Try my refreshing CCQ "Ginger Lemonade"... ginger is used in many Haitian drinks and treat

Enjoy the recipe for my CCQ' s refreshing "Ginger Lemonade"

Prep time: 15-20 min

Serves 4-6

(In my case, serves 1 LOL!)

Level of difficulty: Easy

Ingredients:

*4 inch Ginger Root (reserve 1 inch cut into thin slices *pictured above* & set aside for garnish , leaving 3 inches)

* 10 cups water (reserve 2 1/2 cups for boiling ginger root if you do not have a juicer, leaving 7 1/2 cups)

* 5 Lemons (Thinly slice 1 lemon & set aside for garnish "Pictured above" leaving 4 lemons for juice)

* 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar ( Or preferred sweetener, follow measurement guidelines on preferred sweetener package so that it equates to 1 1/2 cups of regular sugar)

* 1/2 tsp 100% Pure Vanilla Extract

* 1 Tbsp of 100% Almond extract

Directions

Start by juicing 3 inch ginger root (should yield 4-5 Tbsp Juice) pour juice of the ginger root into 64-ounce jug.

Bring 2 1/2 cups of water to boil & add sugar making a simple syrup, remove from stove, let cool & pour into 64 ounce container. * if you do not have a juicer, simply take 3 inch ginger root, slice into 1/4 inch thickness & use a pilon to crush the slices of ginger root, take 2 1/2 cups of water pour into small pot along with crushed ginger root, boil on medium heat for 10 minutes, add 1 1/2 cups of sugar to boiling water & boil for an additional 10 minutes -boiling time should be approximately 20 minutes in total, let cool, strain & pour into 64 ounce container*

Next cut 4 lemons in half & squeeze the juice of the lemons, should yield 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice ( to render all of the juice out of the lemons take each whole lemon in the palm of your hand and roll on countertop applying light pressure to soften lemon before cutting in half) after squeezing juice out of the lemons remove seeds & pour juice into 64 ounce jug / container

Add 7 1/2 cups of ice cold water to jug, add vanilla extract, almond extract, lemon slices and ginger slices as drink garnish. Use long Wooden/Plastic spoon to vigorously stir drink making sure all ingredients are mixed thoroughly. Refrigerate for 2 hours & enjoy. Serve with ice in a tall glass.

This is an absolutely delicious drink that taste even better the next day

If you're out here trying to live your BEST life, try adding 1 to 1 1/2 cups of Vodka to the mixture.... OH YESSSSS Honey!! That's grown folks Ginger Lemonade!! Try Muddling some mint leaves in it, that would be delicious also. If you add the mint leaves, reserve a few leaves for garnishing....OHHHHHH THAT SOUNDS SOOOO GOOD AND REFRESHING!! I'm excited!
